October 17 - Sept. 26 2007; Comments on protecting water sources in Canada by: Wally Oppal, Attorney General - Carole James, NDP Leader,British Columbia - Nicholas Simons, MLA, Sunshine Coast - Shane Simpson, MLA, Vancouver - Hastings, Environment Critic for the NDP - Barry Janyk, Mayor, Gibsons,Director, Sunshine Coast Regional District - Craig Speirs, District of Maple Ridge - Adrian Carr, Deputy Leader, Federal Green Party - Ron Joyce, Retired, Vancouver Police
The citizens of the Sunshine Coast went in support of their Regional District and to bring awareness to the importance of protecting fresh drinking water at it's source. The conference was held in Vancouver, Canada where the members of the Union of BC Municipalities passed several resolutions regarding the protection of watersheds.

Western Forest Products has continued logging in this ecosystem. They are blasting a rock quarry (for building the roads), Driving a felling machine in the small creeks on the lesser slopes, Cutting the old growth (900 years old) yellow cedar, As the restrictions by the Order of the Sunshine Coast Regional District, Local Board of Health regarding Riparian Areas, and Road Buildingare "set aside" until the Appeal Sept. 10 2007.By this date all the trees on the top will be Gone. This is the ecosystem that shadesa SECOND GRADUAL SNOW MELT.With no trees at this high elevation THERE WILL BE ONLY ONE SNOW MELT into the water supply from this area this coming spring.

August 28- There are two new video's available on You Tube posted by Digital Debbie and the viewing time is approximately 13-15 minutes for both videos. These videos continue to tell the story of WFP's presence in our watershed and the behavior that WFP continues to exhibit in the face of mounting public opposition to what WFP says is acceptable logging practices under the Forest Act.
