The land give away program continues, starting with WFP and now Pope & Talbot in the Kootenays.
VICTORIA—The secret sale of Tree Farm Licence lands owned by Pope & Talbot in the Kootenays shows the Campbell government is proceeding at break-neck speed with multi-million dollar giveaways of forest land, say the New Democrats.
Who is next? Where can we find another poor forest company that needs a bailout?
Perhaps the disadvantaged public should line up for a handout?

Lee Doney, Director
Mr. Doney is an independent consultant through his company, RLD Strategies. He is a director on the Community Living Board of the Provincial Government and the Chair of the Board of Columbia Power Corporation.
Mr. Doney was a Deputy Minister in the British Columbia Government for over 15 years and
served in a number of other posts in the government. Most recently, he was Deputy Minister of Skills and Development and Labour from June 2001 until his retirement in April 2004. Mr. Doney’s previous responsibilities include Deputy Minister of Forests; Chief Executive Officer of Forest Renewal BC; Interim Chair, Industry Training and Apprenticeship Commission; Chief Executive Officer of the British Columbia Labour Force Development Board; Chairman of the Workers Compensation Board of Governors; Executive Director to the Provincial Round Table on the Environment and the Economy; and Executive Director for the BC Treaty Commission. He holds a Masters degree in Economics from Queens University.

There are ton’s of information on the SEDAR web site of public documents filed by WFP that disclose both financial information, press releases and background on who owns the majority of shares, backgrounds on WFP directors. I find it very interesting that one of the positions that Lee Doney held for a number of years was “Deputy Forest Minister” for the Province of BC.
