WATERSHED UPDATE – November 3rd, 2007
The SCRD board held a meeting on Thursday and they decided to file “an appearance” notice with the BC Appeal Court. This action by the SCRD is the smallest step they could have taken (unless they stood by their earlier decision NOT to file an appeal) and still keep them involved with the legal process. (See Dan Bouman’s comments below).
Dan Bouman’s comments
The SCRD voted to "file an appearance". The SCCA on behalf of the individual respondents has already filed a Notice of Appeal. The SCRD's action is somewhat neutral, they can join us if they like at a later date. Meanwhile they have a right to all documentation filed by any other party.
So. the SCRD is still in the fray but just barely. This will give us time to get our ducks in a row!
Cheers, Daniel
Tonight the SCCA are going to hold their “celebration of conservation” at the Roberts Creek Hall. Please come out and join your fellow citizens in supporting the hard work of the SCCA board and in particular their Executive Director, Dan Bouman in their efforts all summer to protect our drinking water.
Without their help we would not be where we are today.
Communities all across the Province became aware this summer of our struggle to protect our drinking water and Dan Bouman was instrumental in getting this message out.
